AVIARY

| In April, 2000, Sri Jogesh Ch. Burman, Forest Minister, West Bengal, inaugurated the Aviary for the rescued and endangered birds .The birds relearn survival skills before being set free. Raju is a blind bonnet monkey. The Wildlife Wing officials say he was found tied outside a shop in the city. He could not be released in the wild as he was blind. Minister for Forests & Wildlife, handed him over to the Compassionate Crusaders on September13, 2001. [As the Wildlife Wing has created a bigger space for the rescued birds,named Chintamani Kar Sanctuary, Narendrapur( in southern fringe of the city), our aviary is not being used for sheltering rescued birds. So the Aviary is dismantled to use the land for other sheltered animals.] | ||
